Ava was previously the Director of Development for the GRAMMY Museum, an interactive music space in downtown Los Angeles, where she worked for three years. In her role at the museum, she implemented and guided a comprehensive and diversified development strategy across all aspects of giving, sponsorship, grants, special events, members and board relations. In her tenure at the GRAMMY Museum, she significantly increased development revenue and board giving, ideated and executed the museum’s first annual gala as well as its first education luncheon (with keynote speaker First Lady Michelle Obama) and created and instituted development systems and administrative infrastructure.

From 2008 to 2012, she served as Senior Development Associate for Thurlow/Associates—a consulting firm specializing in fund development and public relations for a broad range of nonprofit organizations. Prior to embarking on a career in nonprofit development, Ava was an attorney, working in the areas of international human rights and environmental law. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara and her Juris Doctor from Southwestern University School of Law. She is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and Co-chair of the 2015 Regional Philanthropy Conference.
