First annual World Music Summer Institute a success

The first annual World Music Summer Institute, which took place from June 25 - July 1, 2006 in the Schoenberg Music Building, was deemed a success by both organizers and participants. Thirty-nine students from Southern California as well as other states attended the one-week program, designed to expose participants to the repertoire, styles, and history of the music of African Americans, Korea, and Mexico.
