Popular music earned its name because of its appeal; it makes you want to sing or snap along. The Early Music Ensemble returns to perform popular love and devotional songs from the past that are still full of vitality, and have great melodies, charm and beauty, along with a few surprises. Among the selections from the fourteenth through the seventeenth centuries will be works by di Lasso, Josquin, and Palestrina as well as pieces from Purcell's Dido and Aeneas.

Program:

"Das G'laut zu Speyer" by Senfl
