Andy Hamilton teaches in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Durham. His areas of research include Philosophy of Mind, History of 19th and 20th Century Philosophy, Ludwig Wittgenstein, and Aesthetics with a special emphasis on music. He is also a jazz pianist and writes for "The Wire" and other contemporary music magazines on contemporary composition and improvised music.
