West Bank Story: The Role of Humor and Art in Peace making.
A special screening of Oscar winner film ‘West Bank Story’ with the film composer Yuval Ron, followed by Q&A with the composer and a live performance of themes from the film.
The film "West Bank Story" by director Ari Sandel, is a musical comedy promoting peace in the Middle East, through humor and equal humanistic presentation of both Israelis and Palestinians.
Yuval Ron have been active in bringing together the musical traditions of the three religions of the Middle East and creating musical bridges between Arabs and Jews worldwide. He is an international record producer, world music artist, educator and a film composer with a long list of credits including “Sleeper Cell”, “Spiral Staircase”, “Someone to Die For”, “Oliver Twist”, “Golda’s Balcony”, and “Road to Victory”, which recently won “GAIA Award” for Best Film Soundtrack at the Moondance film festival. Live music with Maya Haddi - vocals, Jamie Papish - percussion, Yuval Ron - Oud.
