Handel's Agrippina delves into the sordid private lives of some of history's most notorious characters. Agrippina is the ambitious mother of the immoral teenager Nero. Foreshadowing his later reign as the brutal Emperor of the Roman Empire, the opera focuses on the development of the future tyrant, illustrated explicitly by his mother's machinations to place him on the throne. Jeweled with Handel's glorious melodies and penetrating rhythmic pulse, Agrippina will be staged in The Freud Playhouse.
This production of Agrippina is made possible by the generosity of the Maxwell H. Gluck Foundation.
Tickets may be purchased to all events through the UCLA Central Ticket Office (310) 825-2101. Parking for the Freud Playhouse/ Macgowan Hall is in Lot 3, next to the Sunset/Hilgard entrance.
