Opera  UCLA presents Dialogues of the Carmelites, by Poulenc (staged production)

One of the most justly-celebrated operas of the twentieth century,  Poulenc’s DIALOGUES OF THE CARMELITES follows a young woman’s spiritual journey from fear to faith during the French Revolution.  The shattering final scene has stunned audiences ever since the work’s premiere in 1957.
