Public Ethnomusicology Emphasis

Capstone Project

Internship Guidelines

A. Students who choose the public ethnomusicology emphasis must complete the internship requirement (8 units) during their senior year.

B. Students must participate in two or more internships. An internship is one quarter in length, of at least 10 hours per week, or two quarters of ArtsBridge enrollment. The internship must be approved by the supervising faculty as appropriate to the emphasis.

C. While participating in the internship, students must enroll in ETHNOMU 195B—Community or Corporate Internships in Ethnomusicology--with a supervising faculty member associated with the emphasis, or in Artsbridge.

D. Students must produce a paper of 12-15 pages in length at the conclusion of their internship, and submit to the supervising faculty member, detailing the experience. The paper must be turned in and graded before students can receive credit for the internship.
