Music for Theater, Film, Television, and other digital media can be studied in many ways in the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music:

as an aspect of music history in the Musicology Department;
as opera and musical theater performance in the Music Department;
as a compositional medium in the Music Department; and
as a problem in music psychology in the Ethnomusicology Department.

The M.M. degree in composition in the Department of Music includes a composition for visual media specialization.
