This songbook is a companion to the compact disc, West African Music Meets Jazz, which features noted keyboardist, composer, bandleader, singer, guitarist, and arranger of popular and traditional Malian music, Cheick-Tidiane Seck, along with UCLA students, faculty, and staff as well as musicians from the Los Angeles community. The songbook contains essays, interviews with Cheick-Tidiane Seck, and song lyrics and transcripts of excerpts from selected songs on the compact disc.
