Please join the department of Musicology in congratulating Professor Mitchell Morris on being awarded the Philip Brett Award for his work in LGBT Studies in Music. The news is all the more joyful in that the award was given in recognition of the pathbreaking excellence of UCLA's Music History M137, his signature course on Gay & Lesbian Popular Music. (And, given the late Professor Brett's all too brief tenure in UCLA Musicology, this is a long overdue return of events.)

We would also like to thank all the current and former graduate students who've worked with Professor Morris on this now award-winning class.
