Music Doctoral student Hojoon Kim in global multimedia concert | Print |

Music Deparatment doctoral piano student, Hojoon Kim, will be participating in a global multimedia concert organized by The Juilliard School later this week. He will be playing John Cage's Winter Music (1957), for 1-20 pianos.

This version, sponsored by The Juilliard Music Technology Center will feature three pianists from three different parts of the world (New York, California, Japan) playing simultaneously on Disklavier® pianos provided by the Yamaha Corporation.  The concert will be presented four times, on March 29, March 30, March 31, and April 1 at Juilliard's Rosemary and Meredith Willson Theater.

The Disklavier technology can replicate all aspects of performance to another Disklavier piano anywhere in the world via the internet, in real time and with absolute precision. Juilliard pianist Allegra Chapman will perform in NYC, UCLA pianist Hojoon Kim will be in Buena Park, California, and Luna Inaba will be in Kakegawa, Japan.
