INDIVIDUAL PERFORMER REFERRALS

 

FOR THOSE SEEKING MUSIC INSTRUCTORS AND/OR PERFORMERS: The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music provides the names of its students and other individuals who are available to teach or perform solely as a convenience to the public and in response to public demand. All individuals providing music instruction or performing are acting as independent contractors. Their services are not endorsed or guaranteed in any way by the School or The Regents of the University of California, or their respective officers, employees, and agents; the School does not conduct background checks on listed providers. Additionally, neither the School nor The Regents is a party to any such arrangements. Any disputes that arise are strictly between the provider and the retaining party, who retains such services at his/her/its own risk.

     Areas of performance specialization:  Voice.  Soprano specializing in opera, art song, cabaret, and classical musical theater.     Types of musical services provided:  Extensive stage and concert experience, as well as having sung for weddings, funerals, christmas, Easter, high holiday services and verious special events.  Can perform with piano, guitar or chamber ensemble accompaniment, or if necessary iwtha prerecorded background track.  If a piano is not available on the premises, can provide an electric piano.
     Performance experience relevant to thse services:  Soprano Nicole Taylor is originally from Los Angeles, CA. She is currently a doctoral student at UCLA, where she studies with Vladimir Chernov. She is a recent graduate of the masters program at The Juilliard School in New York, NY. In 2008, Ms. Taylor was a semi-finalist in the Jose Iturbi International Music Competition (Los Angeles). She has also won the Prix Coup de Coeur at the Concours International de Musique de Chambre en Lyon (France), 1st prize in the Kosciuszko Foundation Marcella Sembrich Vocal Competition, and madeher Carnegie Hall debut in 2006. Recent performances include "Porgy and Bess" at Oper Leipzig (Leipzig, Germany), Bremen Musical Theater (Bremen, Germany), Kölner Philharmonie (Köln, Germany), Nationaltheater Mannheim (Mannheim, Germany), and Komische Oper Berlin (Berlin, Germany), as well as, performance with conductor James Conlon as soprano! soloist in Zemlinsky' s Psalm 83, as part of Ring Festival LA 2010. In February 2010, she appeared with UCLA Opera Theater as Madame Lidoine in Poulenc' s "Les Dialogues des Carmelites."

Performed as a soloist in the competitive variety show, Rising Stars for 3 consecutive years.
