Here are some frequently asked questions that may help in resolving your issue:

Q: I turn on the MacMini, but there is nothing on the touch screen monitor.
A: Check that the touch screen monitor is turned on, the power button is located on the right side of the monitor. Also, there should be an indicator illuminating when it is on, the indicator (lamp) is visible looking through the vents at the bottom of the screen. It may be unplugged at the power strip at the bottom of the cabinet as well.

Q: Some or all of the components in the AV cabinet are not turning on, even manually.
A: Check the power strip at the bottom of the AV cabinet, some things may have been unplugged, or the power strip may have been switched off, turn it back on.

Q: I have "LapTop" selected on the receiver and the projector is on but my laptop does not display an image on the projected screen.
A: First check that you are on a resolution that the projector can accept, try a few different settings. It is best to use the native resolution of the projectors (1024 x 768) as this will yield the best performance and trouble free operation. If you still have difficulty, then try the "legacy" cable (short 1' black special extension cable) as some laptops, especially older ones, may need this cable to operate. There should be one in each cabinet, if you can't fine it, call support.

Q: How do I turn on the MacMini?
A: The power button for the MacMini is located on the right side rear of the unit. It is a flush button so it is hard to feel. When the button is pressed, the MacMini will startup, chime, and the front power lamp will light after few seconds.

Q: Should the MacMini be turned on, even if I'm not using it?
A: Yes. Besides being used as a computer for your class, it is also used as the system remote control (optional) and as a means of contacting technical support, so it is advisable.

Q: I would like to use Skype in my class, how can I do that?
A: All of the updated rooms have Skype built in and ready to go. The Skype ID for your room is listed at the bottom of the info sheet attached to the inside doors of the cabinet. The Skype camera/mic is available upon request for your class. Use the optional equipment request form to reserve it.

Q: Some of the classrooms (1325, 1343 & 1345) have interactive whiteboards installed, how can I use them?
A: A collection of online resources are available to view at your convenience, check the listing on the Virtual Whiteboard Software page, or you can request one on one training via the training request form.
