Ensemble History: Music of the Philippines Ensemble

The Music of Philippines Ensemble was formed during the 1964-65 academic year, when the course Music 45L/Music 145L (Music of the Philippines) was offered for the first time. The ensemble ceased to exist for many years, but was reactivated as a rondalla ensemble during the 2006-07 academic year, when Tagumpay De Leon was hired by the Ethnomusicology Department to teach the course, Ethnomu 91Z (Music of the Philippines).
