The fourth annual World Music Summer Institute, which took place from June 21-27, 2009 in the UCLA Schoenberg Music Building, brought in one of the largest number of students yet, thirty-nine, from various parts of California, as well as outside of the state. This one-week program was designed to expose participants to the repertoire, styles, and history of the music of African Americans, China, Korea, and Mexico.
