The ensemble was offered from 1991-96 as ESM 91Z, Anglo-American Ensemble or “Old Time American Music.” It was offered as a course again from 1998-2001 as Ethnomu 91Z, Anglo-American Ensemble. The ensemble was revived again by undergraduate student Tom Stanton and offered from 2007 to the present as Ethnomu 91/161Z, with Anthony Seeger as the instructor.
