The fifth annual World Music Summer Institute, which took place from June 20-26, 2010 in the UCLA Schoenberg Music Building, brought in thirty-nine students from various parts of California, as well as outside of the state. This one-week program is designed to expose participants, many of them high school students, to the repertoire, styles, and history of the music of African Americans, China, Korea, and Mexico.
