Music Department Professor Vladimir Chernov to perform in LA Opera Premiere, Il Positano | Print |

Russian baritone Vladimir Chernov a professor in the Department of Music,  will sing the role of Giorgio in the new opera by Daniel Catán, Il Postino, in which Placido Domingo will also star.  

Based on the popular 1994 Italian film, Il Postino by Daniel Catán stars Plácido Domingo as the poet Pablo Neruda for this exciting world premiere. In a tiny Italian fishing village, a shy young postman (Charles Castronovo) finds the inspiration to live out his dreams during his daily deliveries to his only customer, a famous poet.  Chernov will sing the role of Giorgio.There will be six performances between September 23rd and October 16th.
