Center for Community Learning (A333 Murphy Hall, 825-7867) has available a variety of field placements either in the form of internships or short-term projects, for students with at least junior or senior status. One of their programs is the Community Based Learning Program, a joint project with the Los Angeles Unified School District program, which offers students the opportunity to work in a variety of local schools on education programs for youth who lack access to many basic resources. The Community Programs Office (105 Men's Gym) allows students to work in community support projects encompassing educational, legal, health, and academic services to underserved communities in Los Angeles. Students can receive academic credit for these activities through Field Studies Development.

Education Abroad Program (EAP) Office (28 Haines Hall, 825-4995)
Ethnomusicology students have found that spending time abroad has increased their understanding of the musical cultures that they are studying. The UCLA Education Abroad program offers from one quarter to one year of UC units and grade points for work completed abroad. Students usually apply by January of their sophomore year in order to spend their junior year in the program. For those students transferring in at the junior level it is possible to study for one quarter or a summer. Currently, the Education Abroad Program offers study opportunities at more than 100 different universities in 32 countries: Australia, Austria, Barbados, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Denmark, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Ghana, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, Scotland, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand. Career Center (Strathmore Building, 501 Westwood Plaza, 825-2981)
The UCLA Career Center is the central office for student services and resources to explore academic and non-academic career possibilities, make career decisions, obtain employment and internship leads, and develop skills for conducting a successful job search. The career center offers a variety of services for students including: 1) career planning and job search; 2) career information and exploration; 3) employment opportunities; 4) graduate and professional school preparation.

Institute of American Cultures (IAC)
The Institute of American Cultures is an umbrella organization to support ethnic studies on campus. It makes funds available annually through its fellowship and research grant programs. Current UCLA graduate students with a demonstrated interest in research topics related to one of the ethnic studies centers are eligible to apply for graduate/predoctoral fellowships to aid in the completion of a thesis or dissertation. Research grants are also available for current UCLA graduate students, faculty, and staff.

Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) (106 Bradley Hall, 825-1681). OISS provides visa and immigration services to UCLA students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

UCLA Student Organizations
The UCLA student group web service is the official online host for all currently registered UCLA student organizations. In addition to the Ethnomusicology Undergraduate Association and the Ethnomusicology Graduate Students' Organization, there are a number of UCLA student organizations in which Ethnomusicology students have been active, including Grupo Folklorico de UCLA, Samahang Pilipino, and the UCLA Gospel Choir.
