Course Description
This course explores the relationship of musical meaning to film and animation. Projects will involve selection of music examples to pair with scenes from public domain films/animations and the evaluation of changes of meaning and perception dependent on musical variables. Discussions of the operant variables that interact between filmic and musical elements will be included in the course, based on readings in sound and film theory. The course is unrestricted and open to all with musical background.
