In this course, students will gain a better understanding of Jazz harmony and transcribe and emulate a variety of Jazz artists and hone their own artistic voice through focused listening and practice of specific rhythmic, melodic and harmonic devices.

Ensemble performance will be a major part of the class, with a focus
on group interaction and developing listening skills.
