Vidal, Augustus Olatunji
Agustus Olatunji Vidal received his MA from UCLA in 1971. His thesis is entitled "Oriki, Praise Chants of the Yoruba." In it he investigates the musical, social, and aesthetic characteristics of this Yoruban art form. Vidal is currently professor and chair of the Department of Music at University of Ife, Ife, Nigeria.
