Knight, Roderic
Roderic Knight earned both his MA (1968) and Ph.D. (1973) from UCLA. His research interests include Africa (the Mandinka of The Gambia, the 21-string harp-lute called kora) and India (Baiga, Muria, and Pardhan peoples of Madhya Pradesh). He has published extensively, including articles in African Arts, African Music, Ethnomusicology, Selected Reports in Ethnomusicology, and The World of Music. Knight is currently a Professor of Ethnomusicology at Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where he has taught since 1976.
