Crossley-Holland, Peter (b. 1916 - d. 2001)
Peter Crossley-Holland studied at Oxford and the Royal College of Music. Active as a composer and scholar, Crossley-Holland was interested in Asian musical forms (Chinese, Tibetan, and Indian) and the pre-Columbian music of Mexico. Crossley-Holland was on the faculty of the UCLA Department of Music and was Chairman of the Ethnomusicology Council. His works include Musical Instruments in Tibetan Legend and Folklore (1982), Musical Artifacts of Pre-Hispanic West Mexico (1980), and Secular Medieval Music in Wales (1942).
