Courlander, Harold (b. 1908 – d, 1996)

Noted folklorist and novelist Harold Courlander was the author of more than thirty-five books. Courlander conducted research on the folk music styles of the African diaspora including Haiti, the United States, Cuba, South America, and Africa. One of his later works focussed on the Hopi nation of North America and is entitled The Fourth World of the Hopis: The Epic Story of the Hopi Indians As Preserved in Their Legends and Traditions.
