Brown, Robert E.
Robert Brown received his doctorate in ethnomusicology from UCLA. His dissertation is entitled "The Mrdanga: A Study of Drumming in South India" (1965). Brown was a Professor of Music at San Diego State University from 1979 until his retirement in 1992. Brown was the President of the Center for World Music and owner of Flower Mountain, a center for traditional Balinese performing arts in Payangan, Bali.
